Glas wird normalerweise als zerbrechliches, instabiles Material bezeichnet. Glaswände und Glasgebäude zeichnen sich durch eine Sicherheitsglasstruktur aus, die bei einem Riss in mehrere hundert Teile zerbricht, bei hartem Glas stumpfe Kanten aufweist oder bei Verbundglas nicht zerbricht – bei einem Bruch bleiben Glassplitter an der Folie haften, was die Schnittgefahr verringert .
Deshalb verwenden Designer diese Materialien als Handlauf. Zu diesem Zweck werden anspruchsvolle, meist asketische und einfache Formen, Aluminiumprofile und -griffe sowie gehärtetes Sicherheitsglas verwendet. Es ist eine einzigartige Kombination aus Stil und Funktionalität, da es alle Sicherheitsstandards erfüllt und die Haltbarkeit von Aluminium einschließt. Gleichzeitig lässt es Ihr Design durch Glas erstaunlich und leicht aussehen. Aluminium-Geländersysteme werden üblicherweise mit Edelstahlelementen kombiniert, was einen exklusiven Look ergibt.
